Santina is a beautiful country residence, and its origins date far back to the tenth century by virtue of the very special, possibly unique, function for which it was created and maintained over time: eel fishing. The current owners have recently renovated the building whist fully respecting its original character, converting it into a very charming yet unusual residence, as befits its very particular location. The house consists of a central body and two annexes.
Outside, a splendid 19th century English-style river garden has been planted, and its unique appearance blends in well with the house. Guests can use the beautiful 4 x 9 m swimming pool which has a structure that provides shade ,a loggia equipped for eating meals outdoors and a barbecue area. Guests can also use a whirlpool bath for 4 people which is located inside an annex to the house that has a wood heater and therefore can be used all year round.
The property is around 1 km from the small town of Marta that overlooks the banks of Lake Bolsena, the waters of which are considered to be one of the clearest and purest places to bathe in the summer months. After bathing, guests can soak up the sun on one of the neighbouring beaches. Marta has all kinds of stores and there is also a small supermarket just 300 meters from the house.
